Keep it
useful.
Short list of things you can't do with Literica AI. Common-sense rules so the workspace stays safe and legal for everyone.
LAST UPDATED · MAY 2026 · v1.0
Who this applies to
Every account, free and paid.
This Acceptable Use Policy (the “AUP”) applies to everyone using literica.ai (the “Service”). It's incorporated into our Terms of Service. Violating it can result in suspension or termination without refund.
Content restrictions
Material that's illegal, harmful, or not yours to share.
You may not upload, store, or share content that:
- Infringes copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual-property rights. (You can absolutely upload papers you have a personal academic right to read — but not redistribute them.)
- Contains malware, viruses, exploit code, or anything designed to damage systems.
- Sexualises minors, or is otherwise illegal under the laws of Azerbaijan, the United States, or the European Union.
- Promotes terrorism, violence, or incites hatred against people on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or similar protected categories.
- Contains personal data of others without a lawful basis (medical records, financial records, government IDs of third parties).
- Contains classified, export-controlled, or trade-restricted material.
Behavioural restrictions
Don't break the workspace for others.
You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying models, prompts, or system internals.
- Use the Service to train, fine-tune, or build a competing AI product.
- Resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service without a written agreement with us.
- Abuse rate limits, parallelise accounts to evade plan limits, or otherwise game the billing system.
- Probe, scan, or attempt to breach our infrastructure outside our responsible disclosure process.
- Use the Service to send unsolicited messages, spam, or phishing-style content.
- Impersonate Literica AI, our staff, or any other person or organisation.
What AI is for here
A research assistant, not an oracle.
Literica AI is built to help you read, summarise, and synthesise academic content. It is nota substitute for professional advice. You may not rely on the Service's output for:
- Medical diagnosis or treatment decisions
- Legal advice or filings
- Financial, tax, or investment decisions
- Safety-critical engineering decisions without independent expert verification
AI output can be incomplete or wrong even when grounded in your library. You are responsible for verifying anything you cite or act on.
What we do when rules are broken
Proportionate response, with notice when possible.
If we believe you're violating this AUP, we may:
- Ask you to stop and remove the offending content
- Throttle, suspend, or restrict your account
- Terminate your account without refund for serious or repeated violations
- Cooperate with law enforcement where legally required
For the most serious violations (child safety, malware, ongoing attacks) we may act without notice.
